Free Pokemon MMORPG

Pokémon is arguably one of the most popular series globally. As proof of its success, the franchise has spawned various media, including games. To date, there are plenty of video games across different platforms that you can play if you want the experience of catching, training, and battling pokémons. PokéOne is yet another Pokémon game. It is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that brings the core elements of Pokémon. Here, you will go on an adventure across various regions, catching and training your Pokémons and battling other players to become the best trainer.

Catch 'em all

PokéOne shares the same gameplay as other Pokémon role-playing games. You start by making your character and choosing your starter region. There are currently two regions in the game, Kanto and Johto. You can play both, provided you complete your goal on your chosen starter region. Once you've finished creating your character, you can then choose your starter Pokémon and start your journey.

As noted, the game's story-line is identical to the franchise. In your journey, you can capture roaming pokémons and train them. You can also battle other trainers and collect gym badges. The goal of the game is to defeat the Elite 4. However, this is easier said than done since there will be many other players that you will need to battle to gain the EXP needed to compete against the Elite 4.

The game is completely online, filled with other players who share the love for Pokémon. The community is very welcoming. You can always turn to them if you find yourself stuck. However, the game has only one server, and having all these players together renders the server unstable. There are even some times when the game is down for many hours straight.

Addictive but unstable

All in all, PokéOne is an addictive game, especially for the fans of the franchise. It has familiar gameplay, so you won't need any learning curve to master the game. There is also a large community that you can battle with and learn from. However, its unstable server can be extremely annoying as it interrupts your hours of fun. Furthermore, the game could use more MMO elements, such as leaderboards and PVP. Nevertheless, it is a game that you can play if you want to experience how it is to become a Pokémon trainer.

PROS

  • Good visuals
  • Welcoming and large community
  • Great story-line
  • Familiar gameplay

CONS

  • Very unstable server
  • The game is very easy
  • Lacks various MMO elements
  • Could use more regions
